Trip to Marion in 45 minutes

Posted on April 5, 2008 20:44 by kate

Brian took the plane out. I got to be co pilot again. Kiss We were hoping to do a X-C to Alma, MI.  Would have been interesting to pass through several towers to radio "work" However that idea was scraped.  Decided to make it a little shorter of a cross country and flew down to Marion (55 miles) got there in about 45 mnutes. Touched down nicely, had do do a steep turn to avoid a plane. Taxi'd around to take off back to Toledo. Several gliders were out around Marion. Proves that it was a beautiful day for a flight. Total flight time was 2.1 hours.  Took a picture of Brian as he was doing the pre flight.

Flying!

Posted on March 29, 2008 18:28 by kate

Brian got his pilots license in October 07.  Was on the top 5 list of people to get to be "co-pilot". After about 12 opportunities to go and having to cancel them due to weather being poor.  Today March 29th was finally the day to go up in the plane.  We had the Piper Warrior for about 1.5 hours. We did the traffic pattern twice and then we went South and over Woodville and over another small town and back to Metcalf.  Fun time and was a good first time in the small plane with Brian at the helm.

GLMS Mascot takes "part time" job.

Posted on March 26, 2008 09:10 by kate

Our Mascot, Jarno, is very popular at my employment (Keybank) and I've been asked to bring him in to brighten up the environment. Was told that he has "worked" all year.  I put on his "Happy Bearthday" shirt (in honor of my birthday tomorrow) and cargo pants and skeechers.

He was a big hit and enjoyed being away from the apartment for a day.

Digital TV schedules

Posted on March 17, 2008 05:56 by kate
Found the schedules for ABC/NBC. CBS & Fox don't have *secret* channels yet. I can't locate the PBS digital schedule but it's getting late. So I'll investigate more tomorrow. NBC --> http://wnwo.titantv.com/apg/basic.aspx?siteid=51474 ABC --> http://wtvg.titantv.com/apg/basic.aspx?siteid=50197

Digital TV

Posted on March 16, 2008 20:11 by kate

I'm one of those people that just have "antenna" television. Decided to get with the future and get the digital tv converter box. With the help of the government *coupon* it only cost $13 at Wal-mart. Laughing.  Thanks to Brian (briank.glmotorsports.net) and the "nerd" in him, he mocked up an antannae that picks up all the local channels! The best part is that the converter picks up "secret" channels too. Digital tv offers regular WTOL/CBS programming, Regular ABC programinng, 13.2 (HD) 13.3 (Weather) 24.1 & 24.2 (which I found had old episodes of Knight Rider on Sunday nights at 7 (I have them all on DVD so that doesn't matter) but was wondering what else is hidden in between regular programming.

It may not be exciting to others who have 200 channels with cable but I went from 5 channels (11/13/24/30/36 - occassionaly 40/48) to 11 channels (11.1/13.1/13.2/13.3/24.1/24.2/24.3/30.1/30.2/30.3/36.1) Use to get the BG PBS station but I chose the other channels to have better reception (When we moved the antannae to pick up the other channels better we lost 27, but really it's PBS and since I don't give them money I'm stealing from them.

First blog and a very cool day!
